Established in 2000 by Luke Trezise & Ray McCorkell, Turfcare has forged a reputation that is synonymous with quality.
Celebrating 20 years in 2020, Turfcare is a leader within the turf industry and has a strong relationship with clients and suppliers alike. These relationships are reflected in the multiple Geelong Business Excellence Awards Turfcare has won over the years and the Hall of Fame Award.
With humble origins, Turfcare started as a two-man team.
Equipment included just one simple truck and tractor – but what they lacked in size, they made up for in vision. The goal was to provide sports ground maintenance services to the local Geelong region. Word-of-mouth quickly spread and that two-man team soon expanded, becoming the first to specialise in contract spraying and commercial turf maintenance.
The combined experience and knowledge of the team allowed the business to expand from sports ground maintenance into oval renovations. Turfcare was one of the first to commercially line plant sports grounds, converting rye ovals to warm season couch. Broadening into the construction and reconstruction of sports fields saw a huge growth in the company’s size.
After 10 years, Turfcare was employing 15 multi-skilled staff, their expertise covering a range of turf management facets. This included maintenance, construction and developments for a variety of clients, ranging from government authorities, local schools and sporting clubs.
Constant innovation and embracing of technology has seen the business succeed.
Turfcare has flourished over the last 20 years, still the only turf maintenance and construction company in Geelong that has the ability and knowledge to complete turf management operations and constructions on such a scale.
Today Turfcare boasts a fleet of 35 well-maintained, state-of-the-art vehicles, while constantly on the lookout for the newest technology and equipment to keep at the top of the game and provide the best results to clients. The diverse team is now over 30 strong, including an administration team and mix of qualified project managers, precinct managers, mechanics, turf maintenance operators and labourers.
Staff and quality are always at the forefront of everything the business does.
There is a real focus on upskilling staff through professional development days, higher education courses and in-house training. Turfcare has strong values when it comes to people, with continued investment in staff, innovative equipment and practices. Turfcare has always been determined to provide high-quality outcomes to all people and clients, present and future. The future continues to look bright too, with a great reputation for quality and a strong work ethic.
Now a multi-million-dollar company, significant growth has occurred over the last four years. This does not happen by luck but through passion and professionalism.
