With our golden sand, bright blue water and scenic coastline, Australia has some of the best beaches in the world. But our rugged and unforgiving coastline can be extremely dangerous, and even the most confident of swimmers can quickly get in trouble.
That’s were our amazing surf life savers come in.
Surf Life Saving Australia is Australia’s peak coastal water safety, drowning prevention and rescue authority. According to Surf Life Saving Australia, they rescue 30 people every day, with 451 preventative actions conducted every hour. They are essential to keeping us safe in the water.
A not-for-profit, the organisation relies on community donations, fundraising, corporate sponsorship and government grants. And with 315 Surf Life Saving clubs around Australia and 52, 000 kilometres of coastline around the nation to manage, this support is essential.
Collaroy Surf Life Saving Club is one of these clubs, and between our Landscape Solutions division and Turfcare Solutions, we have proudly been supporting them for over 10 years through the sponsorship of their surf boats, the latest of which has just recently launched.
The Collaroy Surf Life Saving Club surf boats are utilised in competitions around the country, at Branch, State and National title levels.
These competitions are a great way for the Collaroy Surf Life Saving Club Surf Life Savers to maintain life-saving skills, stemming from a time when surf boats were a common method of rescue – and it’s great fun!
